From Mountain Lion to Apple's new OS X 10.9 Mavericks

The newest OS X 10.9 Mavericks operating system is now available for all users to access. However, transitioning from Mountain Lion to the new Mavericks may not be that simple for some Mac users.

So, even though the new OS is ready for upgrade, you should not hurry into getting it. First, you need to prepare your device for the upgrade.

For instance, you should know that the new OS X 10.9 Mavericks works with models such as iMac, MacBook and MacBook Air, late 2008 or newer, as well as MacBook Pro 13-inch, 2009 or newer.

 The system supports any Mac that works with Mountain Lion and runs OS X 10.6.8 or later. So, it can also be used on MacBook Pro 15-inch, 2007 or newer and MacBook Pro, 17- inch, late 2007 or newer.

The new version is compatible as well with Mac mini, 2009 or newer, Mac Pro, 2008 or newer and early 2009 Xserve. Apple reveals that users will need at least 2GB RAM memory for the upgrade, but analysts claim that most likely 4GB will be needed for a better user experience.

Moreover, Apple indicates that users need at least 8GB of free space on their device to install the update, but probably it is better to have more than that to make sure that it will work well.

 Mavericks is available only via the Mac App Store. The famous manufacturer makes some recommends to users before starting to upgrade to Mavericks, claiming that they should first install the latest updates to Snow Leopard Lion or Mountain Lion on their devices.

This means that users should make sure to check for the newest updates before starting to upgrade. Other than that, the Mac App Store makes the process of installing updates to OS X quite simple.
