First-weekend Sales Record for the new iPhone 6s

Well, it looks like Apple has done it again and it managed to break iPhone sale records. The tech company declared that more than 13 million new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus units have been sold just during the first weekend of purchases. This is a definitely a record, considering that last year approximately 10 million iPhones were sold during the first weekend.

Probably, this new record has been reached also thanks to the geography of the markets where Apple has released its new iPhones. So, this year, Apple released its new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in several countries and territories, including China. To be added that last year China was not among the countries that sold the new iPhone during its first weekend of sales.

Including China on this list has helped Apple break another world record and also doubled the initial market size.

"Sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple’s history," declared Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.

"Customers’ feedback is incredible and they are loving 3D Touch and Live Photos, and we can’t wait to bring iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to customers in even more countries on October 9," he continued.

To be added that the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will be available in 40 more countries, including, Russia, Taiwan, Sain and Mexico, starting October 9. Apple will not stop here, because the famous company is planning to have the new phone available in more than 120 countries by the end of the year.

To be mentioned that the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were released on September 25th in 12 countries, including UK, US, Australia and China. The new devices feature Apple’s 3D Touch technology, an improved camera, 4K recording capability and Live Photos.

Last year, Apple has sold approximately 74.3 million iPhones, generating 51.1 billion dollars in revenue, being a huge record-breaker. iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were probably the most sold phones that Apple has ever made. Now that it released the 6s and 6s Plus, fans are certainly willing to discover these new iPhones.
