The new Bose SoundTouch 30

The Bluetooth speaker market is getting bigger and bigger. For many years, this market has been dominated by Sonos and its flagship tabletop wireless audio speakers, like Sonos Play:5.

These days, Bose has released a new product that promises to be a good competitor to Sonos’ speakers.

We are talking about the new Bose SoundTouch 30, which is available at the price of 500 dollars. At this price range, without a doubt, Bose and Sonos are direct competitors and will definitely be an interesting fight.

To be added that customers could be willing to buy more speakers, no matter if we are talking about Bose or Sonos, to expand each system into more rooms.

So, this means that users could find as affordable to buy both the older Bose SoundTouch 10 and Sonos Play:1, which have the starting price of 200 dollars.

  • Probably, the main question that everyone will ask is why buying the new Bose SoundTouch 30 instead of Sonos’ flagship speaker? Everyone knows that Sonos is the market leader and its incredible device, Play:5 sounds amazing.
Bose SoundTouch 30 like Sonos Play 5 with extra features

Well, for starters, the new Bose SoundTouch 30 comes with some new features that Sonos’ speaker doesn’t have. These new features that customers will benefit from are Bluetooth connectivity, presets system that will allow users to get their favorite radio stations or playlists up and running instantly, and a remote.

When we are talking about sound, Sonos Play:5 is the leader here, because at high volumes, Sonos’ speaker sounds better compared with Bose SoundTouch 30. Sonos Play:5 comes with a more pronounced bass, while SoundTouch 30 has a more revealing sound.

However, Boses’ speaker is going after both vocal and bass clarity, but unfortunately its falls down at high volumes. Of course, at high volumes, every speaker seems to fail a little, but users have to opportunity to slightly adjust the setting.

There are approximately two years since Bose has released its SoundTouch line. In these two years, the company’s line has gone through several changes and now every tabletop speaker, portable or even outdoor speaker, comes with Wi-Fi.

Moreover, this entire line is designed to link up with other SoundTouch systems and create a multiroom setup. This is really incredible and very useful for people who are searching to expand their sound in other rooms.

As for design, the new Bose SoundTouch 30 is 17 inches wide, 7 inches deep and 10 inches high. It has a good-looking design and customers have the chance to choose between white and black finishes.

Moreover, the speaker features a white OLED display situated in the center of the unit. On the top of the speaker there can be found the rubberized controls that include volume buttons and aux/Bluetooth switch and power.

Another interesting attraction is the speaker’s remote control. This is a welcomed addition for the unit, which features the same six shortcuts found on the speaker.

This remote comes with a rubberized finish that feels pretty good in hand. However, Bose SoundTouch 30 also has a dedicated app that can work on both iOS and Android devices.
