A New Affordable Blu R1 Device

The new Blu R1 Plus comes with a bright display and an expandable storage. Another great thing about this new phone is that it has dual SIM slots.

Customers will be able to buy the new Blu R1 Plus at the price of 159 US dollars. Customers should be aware that this phone is not the successor of Amazon’s Prim-subsidized R1 HD.

However, the new Blu R1 Plus is much better than the phone found on Amazon, featuring a bright HD display and a larger body.

But, this phone also has some issues and lacks. For example, the new Blu R1 Plus doesn’t come with a fingerprint sensor, and the battery life is short. Customers need to know that they will be able to get better performance from the company’s Life One X2 model, which was also released this month.

As we already mentioned, the new Blu R1 Plus comes at the price of 159 dollars. This new phone is similar with the Life One X2 model in both design and feel. The only thing that sets these two models apart is the size. The new Blu R1 Plus measures 6.0 x 3.0 x 0.4 inches and weighs approximately 6.6 ounces. On the other side, the Life One X2 model measures 5.7 x 2.8 x 0.4 inches and weighs 5.8 ounces.

This means that the Plus model is a little bit hefty and bigger compared with its brother. Thus, using the new Blu R1 Plus with one hand will be a little bit of a challenge.

On the right side of the phone, customers will find the power button and a volume rocker. On the bottom of the phone, customers will see a micro USB charging port, while on the top of the phone there is a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Customers need to know that the back cover of the phone is removable, which is a really good thing. Underneath the cover, customers will find the SIM card slot. Moreover, there is also a microSD card slot that can go up to 256GB card. As for the battery, we must say that the new Blu R1 Plus comes with a 4.000mAh battery. Unfortunately, there is no fingerprint sensor, which is a huge lack for phones at this price range.

The new Blu R1 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch screen that features 1.280 x 720 IPS. We must say that this is a bright screen and has great viewing angles. Text and graphics look pretty good, but if we take a closer look we can see some pixelation.

A good thing about this phone is that it is unlocked, which means that it will work on GSM carriers. This phone supports LTE band 2/4/7/12/17, which offers a solid connectivity.

In the end, we must say that the new Blu R1 Plus comes with a Mediatek MT6737 processor, accompanied by 3GB RAM. It is a good amount of power for a multimedia experience. The company claims that the battery life will go up to approximately 6 hours, which is a little bit too low.
