Apple Releases iTunes 10.4 and iWork Updates

Apple has introduced a new update to its iTunes. So, the company has released a 64-bit full-screen iTunes 10.4 update, but Apple has also launched a full-screen version of iWork, which will provide a series of new benefits to users. Both of the new updates presented by Apple are available via Software Update.

Apple has managed to surprise its clients once again. The fact that Mac OS X Lion, the iWork Update 6 and the iTunes 10.4 updates come together is not that curious after all. In fact, the updates that Apple brought to both iWork and iTunes are actually adding features found in Lion. Both iWork suite and iTunes now support full-screen mode.

So, just a few days after introducing the latest operating system OS X Lion, Apple decided to add a small update to its iTunes 10.4. While the update brings some new additions, after all, the most important one seems to be the new full screen more, which works with Lion’s multi touch support. The purpose is to provide a better experience to users. Navigating between iTunes and other applications becomes easier, as well.

The new update comes to provide iTunes 64-bit support. Even though this change might not be seen as very revolutionary by users, at least for the moment, it is important to know that the update is necessary for the future development of the software. Better performance and stability might be experienced by users on long term.

As already revealed, not only iTunes received an update, but the same happened with iWork. The updated iWork version 6 will provide the software support for the new functionalities that Lion brings. Pages, Numbers and Keynote will now add features such as Resume, Auto Save and Versions.

The purpose is to help all users switch easier between documents. Moreover, these updates can turn out being quite useful, as they can help users recover documents after an error occurred.

Naturally, in order to receive the full benefit that these new iTunes 10.4 updates will bring, users need to have Lion OS X on their device. This requires Mac OS X 10.5. Moreover, users willing to update to iWork version 6 will need Mac OS X 10.6.6 or better. Apple’s Mac OS X Lion has brought over 250 new features, including support for full-screen apps.
