Google to Refresh Nexus 7 with twice iPad mini's Pixel Count

Google went to release a new version of its Nexus 7 which actually seems to be even more affordable.

The device aims to be an important competition to the iPad mini, at a much lower price, which may actually turn out drawing numerous new customers.

The new version of the Nexus 7 tablet actually is the follow up to one of the best-selling Android devices. However, the new Nexus 7 manages to be much better than its predecessor in terms of performance.

The device come with 1.8 times the CPU performance, as well as four times the GPU performance, compared to its predecessor. Moreover, it features twice as much RAM. When it comes to design and display, the device features the same 7.02-inch display of the first Nexus 7.

However, resolution is much better with the new release, which features 1920x1200 and a pixel density of 323ppi. This is even higher than the full-size Retina iPad, which features 264ppi.

Naturally, this is quite an impressive achievement for Google’s Nexus, having under consideration also the price difference, which makes this device an extremely affordable choice.

The larger battery life of the new Nexus 7 provides users more usage, adding more than two hours of web surfing and one hour of video playback to its power. The camera that comes on the Nexus 7 is not bad, either.

This 5MP rear camera, is capable of capturing 1080p video, added to the 1.2MP front-facing camera. All these new additions definitely make the Nexus an amazing product. Moreover, analysts claim that the great boost in display resolution comes to make the Nexus a viable option to the iPad mini.

Maybe, Apple is preparing a new impressive release, too, even though rumors indicate that most likely the company will place in sale a new device only in 2014. Google expects the Nexus to enjoy even a more increased popularity in the following period, thanks to both its great technology and its affordable price.

The new Nexus 7 comes with a 16GB Wi-Fi model, but also as 32GB Wi-Fi model. Google also offers a 32GB Wi-Fi and 4G LTE version, but for a higher cost, $339.
