Apple to Release iOS 8 on September 17

Rumors indicated for days that Apple might be releasing a new operating system this fall. However, it seems that the rumors have finally been confirmed.

At a press event that just took place, Apple revealed that a new version for its operating system will actually be released this month. The famous company announced that the new mobile OS will be available starting with September 17.

The fact that Apple was working at the release of iOS 8 was no secret. In fact, iOS 8 was first unveiled at an event that took place back in June.

Apple claimed that its new mobile operating system will offer several upgrades to Siri, among other new features. In fact, analysts claim that this is the second major release for Apple's mobile operating system in about two years.

Apple announced that the launch will take place on Tuesday, in Cupertino, California. The event is set to be held at the Flint Performing Arts Center, in Apple's hometown, so the famous company is expected to come with at least some impressive announcements.

In fact, analysts and Apple fans are have been waiting for quite some time for the famous company to introduce this amazing new product that Tim Cook has been talking about for more than a year.

It surely is very interesting to discover exactly what the company will introduce at this point.
Actually, the pressure is quite big for Tim Cook, too.

Tim Cook took over the role of Apple's CEO after the death of Steve Jobs, about three years ago.

During this time, Apple has not revealed any huge releases or important improvements. In fact, the company has only continued on the path opened by Jobs. Consequently, the expectations from Cook have become even bigger now.

"We’re excited for hundreds of millions of users to begin experiencing iOS 8, with incredible features that offer new ways to use your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch," a statement from Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering said.

Apple also revealed that the new operating system will be available on iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, but also on the fifth-generation iPod touch, iPad 2, 3 and 4, as well as iPad Air and iPad mini.
