Apple Releases Retina 5K’ iMac

Apple unveiled this week its new iMac. It seems that the giant tech has finally decided to upgrade their desktop computer with a higher-resolution Retina Display.

Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, claimed that the new release is absolutely impressive. "You're not going to believe it,” he said.

Also, Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing said about the iMac’s display that it is "an incredible feat of engineering."

Apple Releases Retina 5K iMac
If a high-definition TV has a 1920x1080-pixel resolution, iMac’s display features seven times more pixels. Retina 5k has a 5120x2880-pixel resolution, this means 15.7 million pixels on one display.

Apple’s new device ships today and starts at the price of 2,499 dollars.  Looks like the pricing will remain the same for iMacs that doesn’t feature the upgraded display.

This means that the 21.5-inch iMac will start at the price of 1,099 dollars and the 27-inch iMac will cost 1,799 dollars.

The new Retina 5K will have a quad-core i5 or i7, depending on the option, and an AMD Radeon R9 graphics processor.

iMac is an all-in-one desktop computer, with all its features hidden in a sleek display. This Apple product hasn’t had a redesign in almost two years.

Also, its screen resolution hasn't been updated for a long time, while other devices, such as iPhone 4, featured the first Retina Display in 2010. MacBook Pro introduced it in 2012 and even an iPad came with a higher resolution.

Now, it seems that Apple decided to upgrade the iMac’s display. Even if the company’s Mac business is not that big as the tablet business or the mobile business, it remains very important for the famous company.

Apple generates less than 14 percent of its revenue from the Mac business. However, Mac computers provided for Apple, brought in June more than 5.5 billion dollars in sales. Tim Cook declared that the Mac exceeded expectations in Apple’s overall financial results.

The iMac is a great product for those who are editing high-definition photos or videos. Don’t forget that Apple, also launched in September two new larger iPhones, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and a new product, Apple Watch.
