Apple Pay Still Experiencing Problems

New reports alleged that about two-thirds of Apple Pay users are experiencing some problems when they are trying to use the service at the checkout counter.

It seems that Apple's new mobile payment system is still not capable of delivering the high performance that everyone expected to see in this new service.

A study released by Phoenix Marketing International and cited by Bloomberg alleged that around 66 percent of all iPhone owners who are currently using Apple Pay have experienced issues when accessing it.

The study indicated that all these customers visited at least a store listed as an Apple Pay merchant to find out that the service was inaccessible, due to the fact that the location did not accept the system. About 3,000 respondents were included in this study.

As a consequence, Apple drew a lot of criticism, being said that the company, as well as local stores, created a service and the demand and they are now not capable of fulfilling it.

Moreover, this happens while the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, alleged that the famous company actually relies on the success and functionality of this new system.

Apparently, Apple is willing to focus more on offering functional services to iPhone users, with the main purpose to expand its business.

As expected, Apple did not comment on this new study or the issues that users are facing when trying to access the Apple Pay service.

Apple Pay was introduced for the first time by Apple last year. The service works with iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus. This service is functional only in the stores that upgraded their cash registers to accept the new type of payment.

It has been reported that Apple Pay is currently supported by 2,500 banks and about 700,000 locations; figures shared by Apple itself through its CEO last month.

Tim Cook claimed back then that Apple actually had a good start when it comes to this new service. Moreover, it has been revealed that the service signed on about 50 different retailers to offer its payment method.

However, now it seems that in practice users are dealing with a series of issues when trying to use the service, as retailers are not yet ready to offer Apple Pay.
