Apple to buy Tesla?

The fact that Apple might be interested in making its debut on the automobile market is no secret. However, it seems that the tech giant might have some interesting plans.

Allegedly, investors are not willing to wait for years until the Apple car will make its debut on the market. Reports reveal that some Apple shareholders want the company to purchase Tesla.

Bloomberg reported that Tim Cook was asked by an investor at the recent shareholders' meeting of the company why doesn't Apple purchase Tesla. "Quite frankly, I'd like to see you guys buy Tesla," the investor said.

The annual meeting took place at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California. Allegedly, everyone in the meeting liked the comment, as it was followed by applause.

Apparently, Cook avoided an answer and claimed that "we don't really have a relationship with Tesla." "I'd love Tesla to pick up CarPlay.

We now have every major auto brand committing to use CarPlay." "Was that a good way to avoid the question?" Cook went on to ask. However, it seems that investors were not satisfied with the answer that Tim Cook provided. "We're very focused on CarPlay," the famous CEO went on to add.

"We know that when you step in your car, you don't really want to step in a time capsule and go back 20 years," Cook told investors at the meeting that recently took place.

You would like the experience that you have outside the car to be the same inside the car. So that's what we are trying to do a bit with CarPlay, Apple's CEO continued to explain.

Plans for an Apple Car

Despite the rumors, Apple has never claimed that it plans on building a car. However, it has been said that the tech giant has already created a team of developers to work at its upcoming electric vehicle.

For that, Apple hired a series of high-profile automotive experts, although it tried to keep everything a secret. It has been claimed that the tech giant's first car will be coming into production as soon as 2020.

Well, if Apple will enter the automotive world, it will actually compete against companies such as Tesla and General Motors, which are said to release their electric vehicles in 2017.

However, many analysts have claimed that entering this world will not be simple at all. Apple has absolutely no experience on this market, which is already filed with powerful automakers. Maybe this is one of the main reasons why such an acquisition would be interesting and important for the tech giant.

Tesla and Apple have actually been in competition before, for talent. Moreover, it is a well-known fact that many people leave Apple to join Tesla.

After all, Tesla has more former Apple employees than any other company in the world. On the other hand, Tesla's founder, Elon Musk, claimed that Apple tried very hard to recruit from his company. However, he explained that so far only few people have moved from Tesla to the tech giant.

Well, this is not the first time when investors have come forward with the idea of buying Tesla. In fact, the first speculation of such nature emerged back in 2013, after a meeting between Tesla co-founder and Apple's head of mergers and acquisition.

However, nothing has been revealed or confirmed by the two companies until now, as they both decided to not comment on these claims.

The shareholders meeting took place after Apple released its new Apple Watch, during an event that was held in San Francisco. The tech giant's brand new Apple Watch was first introduced in 2014.

Actually, this new product managed to raise numerous debates, mostly linked to its gold, limited edition. The meeting also served for organizational purposes. Apple actually re-elected directors for a new one-year term.

Without a doubt, this shareholders meeting only managed to create more debates and talks about people interested in the release of an Apple Car.

Is Apple close to entering the automotive market or is the famous company not interested in releasing the much rumored electric car?

Well, these are questions that will definitely find their answers as soon as Apple's plans will become clearer.

Still, the prospect of releasing an Apple Car has already become appealing to numerous fans of the tech giant. Such a vehicle will definitely be impressive, at least when it comes to its technology.
