Tim Cook Wants to Donate his Fortune

Tim Cook is without a doubt one of the richest CEOs in the world.

However, it seems that the CEO of Apple couldn't care any less about the money. Cook recently revealed his philanthropic plans.

Apparently, for the CEO of Apple changing the world is more important than making money for himself.

He plans to give away all his wealth, after providing for the college education of his 10-year-old nephew.

There should be plenty left over to fund philanthropic projects. Cook's net worth, based on his holdings of Apple stock, is currently about $120 million.

He also holds restricted stock worth $665 million if it were to be fully vested," Tim Cook's Fortune profile indicates.

And this is not shocking at all. In fact, Tim Cook has already started to donate some of his money. This means that the CEO of one of the most powerful companies in the world is not only going to write checks and give the money away.

He wants to be part of any of his philanthropy projects and really make a change. It seems that Cook will actually follow the footsteps of Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft.

Without a doubt, Bill Gates is one of the best known philanthropists in the tech world. Gates donated no less than $30.2 billion.

Mark Zuckerberg also made a consistent donation, of $1.5 billion. Many other tech chiefs are known for their philanthropic work, including Google's co-founder Sergey Brin, eBay founder Pierre Omidyar and Intel co-founder Gordon Moore.

With a net worth of $120 million, Tim Cook surely is a wealthy man. However, he is not a billionaire, at least not yet. It has been revealed that Cook will first make sure that his 10-year-old nephew's college is paid, before donating everything he has.

Tim Cook became the CEO of Apple back in 2011. He succeeded Steve Jobs, who actually named Cook in this role before his death.

Cook proved to be a great choice for Apple, as the company has become this year most successful than it has ever been.

Numerous rumors indicated that a series of new projects are on the way for the famous tech giant, so Apple is expected to grow even bigger in the next few years.
