New Chuwi Hi12 is an affordable tablet

Nowadays, Windows tablets are better than ever. The best place where Microsoft can show its powers is on its own Surface devices. Those incredible tablets are high-end devices, which means that anyone on a budget will not be able to consider them.

But, there are many other affordable tablets that are on the market. For example, the new Chuwi Hi12 was especially build for this kind of reason.

This new tablet is available at the price of 250 dollars, which represents a high temptation for anyone who doesn’t want to pay much for a Windows 2-in-1.

The new Chuwi Hi12 dual-boots Windows 10 and Android, and features a 12-inch display. Moreover, this tablet is powered by an Intel Atom Z8300 quad-core processor, accompanied by 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage.

The CHUWI Hi12 runs Android and Windows, and you can switch between them in seconds.
Of course, these are not so great specs, but the price is right for anyone who wants to save some money. To be added that customers could also buy a compatible keyboard dock with a touchpad for this tablet with 50 dollars more.

People might say that they have never heard of Chuwi. Well, this is a tablet maker based in Shenzhen, China. The company is trying to make a name for itself in the North American market, but many analysts have some doubts on that. Chuwi’s slogan is “Chuwi tablet wisdom science and technology life.” Its newsletter box says: “make yourself useful, subscribe us.”

So, the new tablet comes in two parts: the tablet, and the optional keyboard attachment. Chuwi Hi12 feels quite good, having some premium parts on it. For example, the front is a single piece of smooth glass with a black bezel.

As on the other side, the back is a single piece of nice aluminum in one or two colors: gold or silver. The texture material is good, featuring some good-looking curves. As for measurements, the front face is 10.31 by 6.59 inches, while the entire tablet is only 0.35 inches thick.

The new Chuwi Hi12 weighs only 1.15 pounds, which is really great. At this chapter it seems that the China-based company has beaten the Surface Pro 4, which weighs 1.73 pounds.

To be added that the keyboard is really great, feels nice and it comes with an easy-to-grip rubber texture. Unfortunately, the bad thing about this tablet it that the device doesn’t attach to the keyboard so much as sit on it via magnets.

The best thing about this tablet is that it comes with a large variety of ports. Chuwi Hi12 offers a USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 port situated on the tablet itself, while the keyboard dock comes with two more USB 2.0 ports. This is a generous heaping of connectivity.

Moreover, there is a headphone jack that means that users could connect their speakers, and a micro HDMI port for external displays. To be added that there is also a MicroSD slot, which will go up to 64GB of internal memory.
