Facebook Messenger Day is a good alternative for Snapchat

These days, Facebook has globally launched Messenger Day. With this new chat, Facebook will manage to put an utilitarian spin on the slideshow format.

The new Messenger Day is approximately the same thing as Snapchat. But, we also must say that Snapchat Stories is for retelling what people have done, while Messenger Day’s filters and Active

Now indicators will help people find friends, chat and meet up with them. So, after gaining millions of users through tests in a couple of countries like Australia and Poland, Messenger Day has been released globally.

Facebook Messenger has a grat Snapchat clone
This means that everyone will be able to use the new Messenger Day place at the top of Facebook’s chat app with the newest iOS and Android updates, plus in desktop messaging threads.

Moreover, specifically with this new update, people will be able to share with the public custom made photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours.

According to Business Insider Messenger Day could help Facebook realize:

  • It could encourage more visual communication.
  • Provide a revenue stream for Messenger.
  • Stunt Snapchat’s global growth.

If this new update catches on, we must say that it will encourage visual communication through Messenger’s newly enhanced camera, jumpstart chat threads and get friends together in real life.

David Marcus, Facebook’s VP of messaging, has declared that the new Day will definitely insert advertisements between posts to become Messenger’s first revenue stream.

So alongside other Facebook services, like WhatsApp, Facebook Stories and Instagram Stories, the new Messenger Day could also be used to compete with Snapchat for user growth.

As we know, a billion people use Messenger, which is really incredible. We don’t know if Snap will be able to resist with such huge competition. Moreover, it is interesting to see if Snap’s share price slightly dropped this week as Messenger Day was announced.

With this new update, Facebook shows that while Snapchat may have invented Stories, the company is not afraid to copy, no matter what critics say.

All that matters is whether it’s valuable to users or not. Another interesting question is why people need another place to share?

Well, we must say that Messenger will probably manage to reimagine the Stories format around usefulness instead of just fun. This thing could probably spur us to make more memories instead of just consuming old ones.

This is about today. It’s not about yesterday. It’s not about tomorrow,” has declared David Marcus, Facebook’s VP of messaging, for TechCrunch

The two key functionalities are 1) I’m going to set context because it’s going to make for better conversations if people know where I am and what I’m doing. And 2) It’s about where I want to take my day, like ‘I’m bored and I want to go out for coffee’ or ‘I want to go see a movie’ so I’m going to use a frame, take a photo, and see which of my friends are going to engage with me to actually make that plan, because planning is one of the core capabilities of a messaging app.”

It is not a secret that Facebook is stealing the best parts of Snapchat and putting them front and center. This is probably the opposite of innovation, but the company’s ideology has always focused around scale, and not originality.
