HP Spectre x360 Review: A Titan Laptop In Smaller Size

This new laptop is beautifully designed, and it weighs only 3 pounds. Moreover, the battery life is decent enough considering the fact that under the hood it has some of the most powerful components.

The new HP Spectre x360 is without a doubt a first class execution. As we already know, this laptop is the Mini-Me for the famous 15-inch brother.

HP Spectre x360 laptop: Experience technology at its very best

What is amazing at this laptop is the fact that the company managed to drop the design and shrink it to approximately 2.8 pounds.

This means that it is slightly larger than an A4 letter-sized 2-in-1 laptop. So this new 13-inch model is now one of the most compelling 4K convertibles in its size class.

We must say that the only real competitor that this laptop has is the Lenovo Yoga 910. But, the new HP Spectre x360 has some clear advantages and only a few relative drawbacks.

So, this new laptop is a great deal for those who are in search for a powerful tiny laptop. But, the main question that customers should ask themselves before buying this new laptop is:
Do I really need a small 4K display?”

Probably that many people don’t notice or don’t mind the difference between the 331 PPI of 4K UHD, and the roughly 200 pixels-per-inch sharpness of 1.920 x 1.080 with the 13.3 inch display.

Moreover, this new laptop comes with two big tradeoffs. We are talking about the price and the battery life. We must say that this laptop comes with approximately 14 percent shorter battery life, compared with the bigger HD model released last year.

More specifically, the battery life dropped from 9.5 hours to 8. But, this number is also comparable with the equipped 4k Yoga 910. Moreover, the company claims that the HD model can go up to 16 hours of battery life.

Without a doubt that there is a huge difference between the HD model and the 4K one. To be added that the larger model also comes with a choice of a higher-capacity battery to compensate.

As for the price, the new HP Spectre x360 is available at the price of 1.599 dollars. We must say that customers will pay 250 dollars more for the 4K version.

As we already mentioned, this laptop has a 13.3-inch screen that features a 3.840 x 2.160 touch display. Under the hood, customers will find a 2.7GHz Intel Core i7-7500U, alongside 16GB DDR4.

Moreover, there is a 128MB dedicated Intel HD Graphics 620 and a 512GB SSD storage space. The new HP Spectre x360 has an amazing keyboard without the layout gaffes and connection compromises that we found on other models.

As for connectivity, we must say that this laptop comes with two full-capability USB-C/Thunderbolt ports in addition to the single USB 3.1 Type A for charging devices.

In the end, we must say that this laptop also comes with a pleather sleeve which has a slot for the bundled Active Pen.
