Acer Chromebook 13 Powered by Nvidia

Acer’s new Chromebook model comes with a great and slim body. This new laptop features a 13-inch screen, and a solid battery life.

But, first of all, we must say that the main attraction on the new Acer Chromebook 13 is the Nvidia K1 processor for graphics. This is a little bit strange, because as we know, Chromebooks are not meant to have powerful hardware under their hoods. These laptops are recognized by their lower-resolution screens, low-end Intel CPUs, and minimal onboard storage.

Until know, a few exceptions popped up during the years. We are talking about Lenovo’s Yoga 11e model, which was available at the price of 400 US dollars. But, now, it seems that a new manufacturer broke the rule. We are talking about Acer and its new Chromebook 13 model. With this new device, we must say that it is the first time when we saw an Nvidia Tegra-based K1 processor on a Chromebook model.

It is strange that Acer went for a simple name, like Chromebook 13, given the fact that it has such a powerful hardware under the hood. To be added that this new model also comes with a few interesting tweaks. We are talking about the 13.3-inch full-HD 1.920 x 1.080 display. Moreover, this device has a slim and angular body and it comes with a great battery life.

We don’t think that these features are just an excuse to drive up prices, but we must say that this laptop is worth to be checked out. Customers will be able to buy the new Acer Chromebook 13 at the price of 300 US dollars. At this price range, customers will also receive 2GB of RAM and a 16GB SSD.

As many other Chrome OS devices, we must say that Acer’s new model will also work exclusively with the Chrome browser and other cloud-based services. So, when using only a few apps, we must say that it isn’t very important what hardware you have, or who made the processor inside. However, we must say that the new Acer Chromebook 13 runs really smoothly and users will have a great web browsing experience.

Moreover, even if this device runs Chrome OS, customers should know that they will have all the useful apps that they need. Another great thing about this device is the 13-inch HD display, which is a huge step, compared with other Chromebook models on the market.

As for design, customers should know that the new Acer Chromebook 13 comes with a very solid built. Even if it is made out of plastic, we must say that we didn’t feel so. This laptop comes with a body that measures 0.72 thick and weighs approximately 3.4 pounds.

To be added that the new Acer Chromebook 13 is fanless, which means that it will run cool and quiet. As for ports, the new Acer Chromebook 13 comes with an HDMI ouput, accompanied by an SD card reader and a pair of USB 3.0 ports. This laptop also includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi, which is a huge plus.
