Google Jamboard vs Microsoft Surface Hub - Which One is better?

Google’s new Jamboard comes with an affordable price and has a 4K screen. We must say that this board is more affordable compared with the Microsoft Surface Hub.

Google Jamboard: a surprisingly fun 4K ‘whiteboard’

When it comes to presentations and meetings, the Microsoft Surface Hub was the right device to use as a board.

But, Microsoft’s device had one minus, the price.

The Surface Hub is way too expensive to be bought just for board meetings or other presentations.

These days, Google comes with a new alternative, called the Jamboard.

Customers will be able to buy the new Google Jamboard at the price of 4.999 dollars. This new board comes with a 55-inch screen, and a cloud-based digital whiteboard look.

But, customers should know that the new Google Jamboard or the Microsoft Surface Hub were not build to serve as personal devices. These great digital whiteboards are specially designed for business users.

Businesses will be able to place these whiteboards in conference rooms or other areas where people will be able to work on them.

The new Google Jamboard comes with features that combine business collaboration and video conferencing, which are very useful.

But, customers should know that this whiteboard doesn’t come with local storage, which means that users won’t be able to store documents on the device. However, there is enough space in the cloud, where customers can save their work.

The new Google Jamboard comes with a Google G Suite software and has a huge touchscreen monitor. Another great thing about this board is that it runs a version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

So, users will be able to log into a Jamboard session, or a “Jam” as the company calls it. Furthermore, customers should know that they can also log into a Jamboard session via Android and iOS apps.

Using these apps, users will be able to draw or write on the whiteboards. Moreover, the whiteboard comes with a passive stylus that can be used for drawing or writing, but people can also use their fingers.

This is a plus, because, as we know, the Surface Hub requires the company’s proprietary stylus. This means that people won’t be able to use their fingers for drawing or writing.

To be added that Microsoft’s Surface Hub is available at the price of 8.999 dollars, which means that it costs double than the new Google Jamboard.

Moreover, on Google’s whiteboard, anyone can come, click on the screen and start a Jam session. Moreover, people will be able to invite friends with a G Suite or Gmail account to participate in the conference.

Another great thing about the new Google Jamboard is that everyone who has a Jamboard companion app will be able to view a working session and even add markings and stickies. This smartphone app also offers access to all the features that are available on the Jamboard.

As we mentioned, the new Google Jamboard comes with a 55-inch, 4K monitor. As for ports, this whiteboard offers a solid array of them, including USB Type C, HDMI 2.0, and an Ethernet input.
