New Gaming Laptop From MSI: The GP62X Leopard Pro

This new laptop comes with decent performance, and a relatively thin and light body. To be added that this device has a short battery life and a low number of configurable options.

Customers who are shopping for a gaming laptop should know that there are a few compromises they have to make. So, unless they have a huge budget, customers have to make a few compromises when buying a mid-budget gaming laptop.

The new MSI GP62X Leopard Pro is available at the price of 1.099 US dollars, which means that it is quite affordable for a gaming device. This laptop is a good example why you shouldn't have a limited budget when buying a gaming model.

The first thing that customers will be disappointed of is the graphics card. This GPU doesn’t meet the recommended specs for virtual reality accessories. Moreover, this GPU doesn’t have the power to produce the frame rates that people are used to see at other competitors on the market.

The good part about MSI’s choice GPU is that it is able to power an external 4K monitor, which is a really good thing. To be added that this laptop is thinner and lighter than other 15-inch gaming laptops on the market. Customers will see that the sides of the keyboard and the lid are sculpted.

This means that its design is very similar with the one that we saw on the Alienware 15 R3. But, we must say that this device is kind of bulky and with not so great design. Customers who prefer a more stylish simple design, should know that the new MSI GP62X Leopard Pro is not the right laptop for them.

We must say that there are some good-looking gaming laptops on the market, for example the Dell 7000 and Razer Blade.

The new MSI GP62X Leopard Pro comes with a body that measures 1.13 x 15.07 x 10.22 inches and weighs approximately 4.7 pounds. This means that this laptop is lighter and thinner than the Dell Inspiron 15 7000.

But, this doesn’t mean that the new MSI GP62X Leopard Pro is the slimmest and tightest gaming laptop on the market. Moreover, laptops with such bodies also come with a few compromises, including higher prices and smaller screens.

The good thing about the new MSI GP62X Leopard Pro is that it has a decent design, with a red cheatline situated at the back, while on the top it has a brushed aluminum material.

This laptop comes with a 15.6-inch screen that features a 1.920 x 1.080 pixel display. The company claims that this screen has an IPS-level, which means that it has the ability to display 94 percent of the NTSC-defined color space.

Moreover, the viewing angles are similar to an in-place switching display. Under the hood, we must say that this laptop is powered by a Core i7-7700HQ @2.8GHZ with a turbo boost of up to  3.8 Ghz , 16 GB of DDR4 memory, 128GB NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD (7200RPM) and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB of GDDR5 VRAM. This GPU uses Nvidia’s latest Pascal architecture. This card managed to deliver 46fps on the Valley ultra-testing.
