After spending hours searching for a laptop, I found this!I wanted a 2 in 1 laptop and it needed to have at least 8gb of RAM. Almost all the other laptops I looked at had only 8gb of RAM, which is sufficient for most people, but I use Photoshop and premiere and would prefer at least 12gb of RAM or more. This one has 16gb.After finally making a decision, I ordered it! This is the best laptop I have ever used. This is the first computer with an AMD processor that I've owned. Very fast, great battery life, and I love the color!Pros:- Blazing fast (the AMD processor performs better than a lot of Intel i5's and even some i7's!)- Keyboard is really nice and backlit- Finger print reader- Charges by USB-C- Camera privacy cover- Controls heat wellCons:- All plastic design- Screen has less nits than other laptops (but still a great, bright screen)- Trackpad is not as good as the lenovo c740 (it feels like my finger doesn't glide across it as well)- Speakers aren't very good- A little thicker and heavier than other laptopsI highly recommend this laptop! I believe that the pros outweigh the cons.

After passing off last year's model to my brother (3500U Flex 14), I got this as soon as I saw it posted up on Reddit. I'm thankful I did, since it was sold out within an hour or two and has been since.Let's get the rundown here.- Ryzen 5 4500U 6c6t APU- Radeon Vega 6 graphics- 16 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz dual-channel RAM (CL 22, but that's par for the course for a consumer laptop)- 256 GB SK Hynix NVMe SSD- 1080p IPS touchscreen w/digitizer (pen included!)Build quality is about as good as you can get without moving to all metal. The keyboard deck is rubberized, and the outside is built solidly - no creaking! Hinge is strong, but it opens up almost all the way with one hand (tilts towards the end). The overall design is darn near similar to last year's model, but built a bit more "premium." One exhaust vent at the back, but as you'll see later it really doesn't need 2.I mainly focused on CPU performance, as benchmarks for this flavor of Vega 6 are all over the place already, and given the thermals I saw performance should be what you'll find elsewhere. Long story short - roughly 10% faster than the 3500U's Vega 8 at less power (15 W vs 25 W).The benchmarks speak for themselves, but I was very surprised at what this thing was capable of. I ran these on the included USB-C wall charger (which was a surprising inclusion considering the laptop has a barrel jack for power). The only thing to keep in mind is that this was tested when my room temperature was in the upper 70s to lower 80s, so you could see the temp results as a "worst case" scenario. 77c absolute max during Geekbench is crazy for this thing, especially considering how thin it is. Never got too loud, either. Fan isn't whiny at all!Camera is acceptable. Nothing to write home about, but it'll work well enough for video calls. Battery is excellent - while browsing the web and watching videos, I have been consistently draining 10% per hour of use! That 10 hour claim from Lenovo seems pretty spot on.Honestly, I could think of only 3 things that would make this laptop better, but all of them would definitely drive up the price/bump it up a tier:- 120 Hz FreeSync display like the (crippled by 8 GB RAM) IdeaPad Slim 7- Ryzen 4600U/4800U options for more threads (4700U option is now available in some places)- Metal constructionI'll personally be upgrading the storage, but overall it's amazing.

All rounder- not quite jack of all trades, but very versatile in what it can do.Great value for the price, but wouldn't use it as a main laptop especially if you're into gaming or heavy video editingComes with digital pen. Runs of AAAA batteries (included). Pen has a USB holder attachment. When slotted into the USB port blocks 2 USB ports, SD card slot and power button. Very odd design choice. Not a real issue if you use extra usb port for a wireless mouse adapter, SD card slot already slotted in. Power button is not really needed (will go into this later)Best to download Microsoft Whiteboard for basic note taking and sketching with pen. Doesn't feel as good as writing on clipboard with ballpoint pen, but you get used to it. Also writing space feels more limited due to thickness of font. Laptop has some weight, so when holding it in the air for prolong period of time can get uncomfortable--Has 3 display methods:Laptop: traditional with touch screen. Physical keyboard is one of the best I've used that's built into laptops. Track pad is basic, I personally don't use it and gravitate towards touch screen and/or wireless mouse.Tent: Good for viewing video especially while watching on the side when eating for example. Speakers fire from behind, may have to turn up volume higher than you would in laptop mode. Adjusting volume on task bar instead of physical button can get a bit getting used to.Tablet: Still runs Windows 10. Doesn't go into Andriod OS. Laptop is a bit heavy, don't expect it to be a good e-reader. Great for note taking thoughFor tent and tablet mode, you can use a digital keyboard. Hinge is really good, no issues converting to all 3 modes. If you're used to 4k display, this laptop is a huge downgrade. The white balance is pretty bad, but manageable. I'd watch Youtube videos on it, but not HD movies. Aspect ratio by default is bad and only displays 2/3 of screen, first thing to do after initial setup is go into settings and make changesCamera and mic on this laptop is bad. Person on other end can still make you out, but don't go dressing up all fancy when video conferencing expecting to get noticed. There's a physical privacy shutter which is nice.Wifi and bluetooth connection works well. No issues on my endFor gaming, able to play games on low settings. Not future proof as PS5, Xbox Series X are coming out; gaming industry most likely push for higher graphics and performance on mainstream games in the future. For less graphic intensive indi games should work well.Fingerprint reader is responsive. No need to press power button on side. Goes to sleep mode when closed, does not use a lot of battery when idle. When you open laptop it auto goes into log-in screen and use finger or pinType C port is charging only. No data or video out. There is a DC port, but comes with Type C chargerBattery is good. Got around the advertised 10 hours, then again not a heavy user on this laptopMetal Lenovo sticker is a bit off which is a bit disappointingOverall, competent in most areas. Great for casual users of tech or a secondary laptop. It tend to gravitate towards this laptop more than my main one when moving around the house, doing tasks away from my desk

The screen's uniform brightness shifted somewhat if not straight on. The right hinge broke less than 24 hrs of opening. The corners had light bleed on dark scenes. There was a faint black spot (clouding) in the bottom middle. I returned instantly. Other than that, it was fast and the speakers were okay. I played BTD6 (android store); the game looked worse than the PC version and it dropped frames. I understand the Chrome OS doesn't work the greatest with Android apps. After this experience, I'm not sure I would purchase again. I really wanted to like it but these issues were a deal breaker.

So I bought this while in the hospital so I could do video chat with my kids as my stay was a multi-week situation. The camera simply does not work. I tried Zoom, Skype, Facebook, but nothing. The rest of the system works fine and it is a good product. I should have remembered my wife had the same issue with her recently purchased Lenovo Windows OS laptop, but I was in a hurry to get this. Keeping for now with the hopes that I can get the camera to work, but if not, I will probably re-review and provide a follow-up rating.

It took much longer than promised to get this chromebook--- but I did get it. And hopefully you will learn from my mistake. I could not get the webcam to give a clear picture for love or money. After an hour on the phone with Amazon, they connected me with Lenovo. The feature that I thought was a built in decal to tell the user which way to slide the cover switch to block the camera--- was a decal--- but not one meant to stay on the computer. It is amazing how all of my problems with the camera cleared up-- once the Lenovo rep told me to remove the sticker (which in my defense did not have a pull tab or anything on it that made it evident that I would be able to remove it.)

SUMMARYA surprisingly well-rounded and well equipped budget chromebook that doesn't get the attention it deserves.LEAD-UP TO THE PURCHASEHaving recently given my Google Pixelbook to a friend who was in desperate need of a computer, I was in the market for another chromebook... just in time for Prime Day June 2021. I didn't need a powerhouse since I have learned firsthand that running Linux on a chromebook sounds better on paper than it does in real life use.The 2-in-1 form-factor was fun to tinker with but in practical day-to-day use, I found it better to use a dedicated Android tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S6) for touch and pen tasks. A traditional clamshell design would be fine for those "laptop-y" things... and an 11" or so screen would allow for a very portable device.PRIME DAY HUNTINGWith those requirements in mind, I went hunting in the Amazon (see what I did there? ;-) ) for a suitable chromebook. I found that most of the deals were for devices that had been released two or more years ago. A few other "deals" weren't any cheaper than the regular prices at other stores (for the same processor/RAM/storage configurations).I ran across the Lenovo Chromebook 3 (LCB3 for short) and it really intrigued me. Not only was it quite inexpensive, but it had a decent processor (Celeron N4020), decent storage (64GB), and more ports (2-USBC, 2 USBA 3.0, microSD card slot, and headphone/mic jack) than my old Google Pixelbook (2 USBC, headphone/mic jack).I watched some reviews on Youtube for this device and only one gave it a half-decent review. In spite of the lack of glowing reviews, I purchased it.UNBOXING AND USEWhen the LCB3 arrived and I opened the box, I was impressed with the look and feel of this chromebook. I don't have to qualify this comment with (...for a $170 chromebook). No, it is legitimately a good looking and feeling chromebook, period. The lid has a tasteful Lenovo branding plate on it and a section of the lid has a fine gray hash pattern stenciled on that gives it an interesting and attractive look. The screen is a matte screen... yes! I've always been a fan of matte screens (especially on Thinkpads) and although the reviewers complained that it wasn't a bright display, I found it to be just fine in the places I typically use a notebook-type device. The keyboard isn't the same as that found on Lenovo's other laptops, but it feels stable and quite acceptable for long typing sessions. The trackpad works well and is consistent.Battery life is extremely good. I haven't run it all the way down yet, but on multiple occasions, I've run it on battery mostly surfing and typing for 3-4 hours and the projected battery life remaining registered 10+ hours. I don't know how true that is, but I'll try to run it all the way down and update with the results.Performance is more than adequate. The combination of the Celeron N4020 and the lower screen resolution results in a very smooth and responsive experience.TAKE THE EXPERT REVIEWERS' OPINIONS WITH A GRAIN OF SALTBecause expert reviewers have access to a wide variety of devices, (many of them high-end), they can have their perspectives skewed a bit. It's nothing personal against them, it's how we're all wired. That seems to be evident in their review and coverage of the LCB3.Lenovo has been "killing it" (in a good way) lately in the chromebook space. Their Chromebook Duet gets most of the attention, but this LCB3 is the hidden gem in their recently released chromebooks.I've owned the older Lenovo ThinkPad chromebooks in the past, but the LCB3 feels more like a ThinkPad than those officially branded ThinkPad chromebooks were. I'm baffled as to why expert reviewers haven't given this device more attention.I was initially concerned about how well the few Android apps I rely on would work on a non-touchscreen chromebook, but so far, they work as expected.I'm delighted with the LCB3 and it will fit nicely with how I use my chromebooks. I hope this is helpful to those who are considering purchasing the Chromebook 3.

This is a very light Chromebook. Easy to carry, very portable. The product description on Amazon has this Chromebook listed as a "touchscreen" Chromebook. If you scroll down to the section titled "Choose the right Lenovo Chromebook for you" you will see that this model has a check-mark in the "Touchscreen" row. Unfortunately, this Chromebook most certainly does not have a touchscreen. You must use the touch-pad and keyboard for all input.I love that it is quick, and it is very easy to setup. I am happy with its performance. I also love that it has a large drive for storage, long life battery and a very clear display.Overall, I am lukewarm about this Chromebook. To me, the price seems a bit high for a Chromebook with these features. They seriously need to fix the product description. I'm giving it 3 stars.

I’m still getting used to the ChromeOS but I can get to and utilize everything I need.

I needed a laptop for college, and this Chromebook has been really useful in class. It's really nice to have most of my textbooks on my laptop, and taking notes is very convenient with this Chromebook.Since none of the courses that I plan on taking require me to download programs that for a Windows 10 computer, this Laptop was perfect for me. Even if you don't plan on using it for work-related things, this laptop is very great for entertainment because of its amazing battery life which is something that most Windows Laptops lack since they require more processing power. But this Lenovo laptop is perfect for youtube, Netflix and many other streaming sites. It's truly an amazing Chromebook for all of your basic needs

Received this product the other day and so far it has been great. I have used google chrome exclusively for years but I have always owned a windows laptop. I never use any of the windows products and I would rather be completely ignorant than ever use Bing so it seemed smart to just buy a Chromebook, also my phone is an android so syncing was easy. Having none of the windows crap to bog me down this laptop is very fast. It starts up where I left off almost immediately and if not for my crappy HughesNet it would be blazing. For roughly 250.00 it was a great deal. Gave it 4stars because of no touchscreen and the screen quality could be slightly better but for the price I am very satified.

I liked the idea of this Chromebook and did a bit of research before deciding on this particular model. It was easy to set up and I was extremely pleased at how quickly I was able to use it. It was about as close to plug and play as I have ever gotten with a computer! The big drawback however was the screen quality. It was washed out and muddy looking. Not at all clear. It was a total distraction and for me it was a deal breaker. Maybe for some people they wouldn’t mind so much but for me it was very annoying. I sent it back.

After a delay, the laptop arrived. Initial inspection of the laptop revealed two screws on the bottom not fully seated otherwise the unit was in excellent condition. After the screws were seated and the laptop charges, power was applied and it booted up as expected.Overall this is a great laptop that came with minor issues and concerns.

obviously the speed is foremost... it is also light and easy to handle. Love that SSD. As a reconditioned model, it works for me. The power charger however was total crap.

I bought this laptop for use in my new home-based business. My old computer was slow. This one is amazingly fast, and I love that it has Windows 10 Pro. I have seen this same computer listed at Walmart for $1500, and this computer has everything I need. Setup and update was the fastest and easiest I have ever experienced on any computer.I have only had this for a few days, so I'm sure I will discover even more features as time goes by, but for now, here are my favorite things about this computer.<ul><li>It works flawlessly with a second monitor hooked up to it</li><li>It has a 10-key option built into the keyboard. If you hold down the Fn button on the left side of the keyboard, you can use the 10-key function with your right hand. I thought about attaching a second keyboard to this so I would have 10-key, but now I don't have to. </li><li>The power cord plugs into the back instead of into the side, which just works out better for me. </li><li>This computer is lightning fast. I can have 10 or more open tabs on my web browser, and it doesn't slow down a bit! </li><li>I don't know what it is about it, but the touchpad just feels nicer and seems easier to use. The surface of the touch pad and the area around it is textured. Maybe this is what makes it easier. Also, the buttons are where you can see them, rather than hidden within the touch pad. </li><li>Mine does have a backlit keyboard, but do be aware that this is a luck-of-the-draw feature. Not all of these will have that. </li><li>The battery life seems to be really long. I have not used it away from my desk much, but during the few times that I have left it unplugged for a few hours, I noticed very little drain on the battery compared to my old laptop.</li><li>The picture is very high-quality. I have a second monitor hooked up to it, which is also brand new, and other than the monitor being larger, I do not discern any difference in the picture quality.</li></ul>I will say it would have been nice if it had a touch-screen, but with all this laptop's good features and qualities, I adapted very quickly to not having a touchscreen.I am sure there are a lot of other things to love about this laptop, which I will discover over time. I will keep updating this review as I find more awesome features. I was a little nervous about getting a refurbished computer, but I am so glad I did. I never could have gotten this caliber of a computer within my budget, and it is what I needed. This is the best investment I have made into my new business so far.I use this computer for office and business-related tasks. I put it through a pretty good load with a lot of multitasking during use, in ways my old laptop could not tolerate. It seems to have the resources to handle everything I throw at it. I was thinking I would just buy a lower-cost laptop for now, then get a more expensive one once I get my business off the ground, but this one is a keeper!I do not know how this would perform for gaming, as I am not a gamer and have never tried any gaming. I just know it has everything I wanted in a laptop for business needs. If you need a computer for work or just for general everyday use, I highly recommend this one.

My computer experience goes all the way back to the Laser 128 (apple knockoff) Literally have owned dozens of computers. So, I have some background. That said, I HIGHLY recommend if you need a lightweight computer, mainly for surfing, you go ChromebookI got this one for the larger screen. The eyes aren't getting any better. I did a lot of research, and this one hit all the marks. They were right.Screen? Excellent. Speed? Excellent. Memory? Plenty (I opened 10 tabs, all opened quickly) Sound? REALLY great. Kinda scared me, I didn't expect that from a laptop. My last one I had to buy a bluetooth speaker to hear it, even very close (I am kinda deaf) Ease of Use? Simple. If you use the Chrome Browser, you can use this.Get a Memory Card at the same time. I got a 128GB, and moved all my music and pics over to that. Update to my old laptop complete. This isn't for professional editing of photos, tho you can. It isn't for making music, tho you can. It is for what most of us do now, navigate the internet. Perfect for that, at 1/3 the cost of a Windows computer.

I really wanted to love this chromebook but the screen is not very bright even at the highest setting. Also when I try to share the screen my wife can't see it unless I turn it just the right way. The speakers are mounted under the chromebook so I get a constant tinny sound and it drives me crazy. I put this chromebook in my bedroom and went back to my 3 year old acer chromebook. I read all the reviews and thought this was a good purchase but I was wrong. Acer makes a better product hands down.

I have been using this Chromebook for a day now. The battery life is definitely all day, the OS is crisp and quick, and the new version of the OS allows you to download your favorite android apps from PlayStore. I am using it as my main business laptop too, as it is light and the screen is a good size. The OS will allow you to run Linux programs by opening the Linux terminal in its apps and typing:sudo apt -get install libreofficeIt takes perhaps 15 minutes to download this Office substitute, but the substitute is very good and nicely Office compatible. The power cube is good too. The USB-C cord and port is very convenient as one cord now charges this device, my Windows 2in1, my wife's laptop, and our phones. We have a few power cubes, and now we have another that has enough power (at 2.4 amps) to charge and run any of our devices. Finally, the keyboard is solid and does not slow me down. One annoying thing coming from windows is the lack of a delete key and a snipping tool. However, there is a program switch key on the top row, above the number 6 which, if pressed along with CTRL and Shift, is a snipping tool. And, ALT backspace is a delete key. So, I can do everything I do, at a pretty sophisticated level, all on one bright and fast machine with long battery life and a $239 pricetag. Heck, Office alone almost costs that. This is a very good solution for home or corporate.

POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARDHad been a fairly good unit for the kids to game on but suddenly died when an electrical circuit burnt out at about 15 months after purchase. Because of the nature of it being a laptop, of course we let our children use on their laps and lay it on their bed or whatever, but this unit actually had a small flame shoot out of the corner (see picture of soot in hinge area) that could have been a much large accident if it would have been touching something flammable at the moment it happened. My 5 year old was holding it when it happened and yelled at me that a flame and smoke was coming out of the Chromebook! So be careful about how you handle any of these units, everyone always believes that sort of thing will not happen to them, as I believed. And of course this event happened when it was out of it's manufactures warranty. This unit only has a 12 month warranty from Lenovo and they start that warranty when it was apparently released to Amazon for resale which was about 4 months even before we purchased and received. So if you don't want to worry about replacing after a year of use do yourself a favor and purchase one of the extended warranty options, because we all know alot of these electronics now are not made for long term use.

Overall I cant recommend this chromebook. The price is attractive for what you get but I had 2 before deciding thats just not enough. The first one when I opened it, it had a super small crack right in the middle of the screen lid, so small that had the case not been white I would have not noticed it. When I did, I attempted to scratch it off with my fingernail thinking it was just a mark, it wasn't and I was honestly ok with it because how small it was. Well, it spread and got significantly bigger to the point I decided I best exchange it. Second unit arrives and everything looks good, I get it all set up and begin using it. Its almost* decent, stutters here and there but doable until I grabbed a few lightweight games from the market and it had a hard time with much of anything. On to linux apps, as this computer supports them and same thing as the market, just too much for this computer. If you only want to browse the web then I think this will do you ok, little dropped frames on video etc but ok, anything more and you might want to reconsider. This chromebook comes with a mediatek processor which is about on par with lower classed intel celerons etc, great for price, battery useage but pretty bad for the consumer.

Chromebook prices range from around $100 to over $1000. Better Chromebooks have Intel Core CPUs for great performance. The much cheaper Mediatek system in this Chromebook gives it mediocre performance, especially for intensive games or for business users who open lots of tabs simultaneously and frequently switch between them. On the plus side this Chromebook has a useful 4GB of RAM, a sharp colorful IPS screen, a touch screen that works great with Android apps, a very responsive (for swiping) touchpad, and reliable WiFi (much better than my HP laptop). On the minus side, the white plastic shell looks and feels a little cheap, the screen is not very bright, and the touchpad's button feels a little clunky. In summary, if you can't afford more than $300, this is a good choice for casual users who only have a few tabs open at once and use it mostly for email, Facebook, web surfing, and streaming music or videos. If you can afford $350 to $400, you will have several choices with more powerful CPUs for more intensive users.

I love the portability. Like another review mentioned, the screen needs some more "secure" hinges. Little bouncy but no problems. For sure get a protective case. Needs more than 1 usb port but that can be added on. Performance wise, it keeps up with all my tasks, fast turn on, and great picture. Screen is easy to navigate. I think this thing will run forever on a charge.

Newest Flagship Acer R13 13.3" Convertible 2-in-1 Full HD IPS Touchscreen Chromebook - Intel Quad-Core MediaTek MT8173C 2.1GHz, 4GB RAM, 32GB SSD, WLAN, Bluetooth, Webcam, HDMI, USB 3.0, Chrome OSJune 16, 2018 - Two samll things keep this from being a 5 star Chromebook. The microSD card slot is not protected with a cover and it is easy for the card to be ejected with normal use and handling. Also, I had a large SD card in the slot at first and it did not work. Check the max size prior to purchasing a microSD card for this computer or if SD card size is important to you.The charging cord failed just before the USB-C connector. The USB cable is hardwired to the charger so you must replace the charger it the cable fails. Acer sent me a new charger under warranty but it seems this is an obvious fail point with a simple solution.Other than those two things I like the large screen and operation of the computer.

Got it for son whose old laptop was heavy. This is surprising light and fast. He wasn’t so sure about a Chromebook , having an older windows computer. Since having it he says it’s fast, picture good , likes the touchscreen and is great for watching movies, checking email and web surfing. All in all a good purchase
